With every Best of the Year list, there has to be a worst list.

The first part consists of the movies that I didn’t get the chance to see that I heard were terrible and that looked terrible that I didn’t get around to see them. I don’t normally see movies I don’t want to see, but I try to see movies in general so I can have a variety of things, but it just happens where I don’t get to everything.

Bad Movies I Didn’t See but wanted to:

The Mummy, Fifty Shades Darker, Underworld: Blood Wars, Transformers: The Last Knight, Unforgettable, The Dark Tower, The Circle, Flatliners, Snatched, All Eyez On Me, Rough Night, Ghost in the Shell, Kidnap… I could go on but I’m going to stop lol. There were a lot of movies, I meant to watch but never got around to it.

Dishonorable Mentions:

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Atomic Blonde, Murder on the Orient Express, Justice League, The Book of Henry, Monster Trucks, The Great Wall, Fist Fight,

Worst Movies of the Year:

These are the movies I saw this year that I consider to be among the worst.

10. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

So I ultimately enjoyed watching this, but it has a lot of flaws. The story, how the villains are handled, how the characters are handled. I think it could have been a great experience, but there were a lot of stupid details, characters saying stupid things, the dialogue was really bad at times. The climax was also very lame.

9. Sleepless

How can you make Jamie Foxx, a charismatic actor, whisper, grunt and seethe the entire time. The story is dumb, the climax is dumb and while there are some good things in it, such as the acting and the two action scenes, everything else, the son’s acting, the villains… I just didn’t buy any of it. Dumb.

8. The House

This movie was supposed to be funny and while it has funny things, it doesn’t have many laughs throughout. It has a lot of pacing issues, and it’s very similar to everything we’ve seen before. The premise is interesting but it doesn’t add anything new.

7. Beaches

This movie was supposed to be good. Unfortunately, it’s not. The acting isn’t bad, at least not from Nia Long and Idina Menzel, but they did not handle the story well. They didn’t allow us to really see how the friendship was built and lasted throughout their years. They rushed over the important parts of their lives. Ugh, it was so upsetting. The music was also very forgettable and you have IDINA MENZEL and you have forgettable songs. Lame.

6. The Space Between Us

Again, the acting isn’t bad but the characters are STUPID. They’re all cardboard cut outs of cliche people. The story is super stupid and doesn’t make any sense, characters make super stupid choices. Again, HOW CAN AN ASTRONAUT MAKE IT TO SPACE WITHOUT PASSING ALL TESTS!!!! So dumb. The romance is fine but I don’t necessarily believe it.

5. Rock Dog

Stupid. The kids weren’t even interested in this movie. That should say a lot.

4. Baywatch

It has it’s funny moments, the acting isn’t bad, but the characters aren’t very interesting outside of Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron’s characters. The supporting characters weren’t interesting, the humor didn’t always land, the visuals could also be pretty bad, especially in the scene with the fire and the boat. It was very unfocused and the villain, while a good actress, was a terrible villain.

3. Tulip Fever

I really wanted to like this movie, it seemed really interesting but the whole “tulip” thing I thought ruined the movie. The acting isn’t bad, it’s good, the characters can sometimes be interesting, the side characters more so than the main ones. Again, characters also making really dumb decisions and character development was pretty nonexistent.

2. Collide

This movie is terrible. All of the characters, all of them have no motivation for anything they do. The acting is fine, but I cannot imagine how any of these actors thought this script was legit when they read it. Something had to have changed by time they started filming. The action was lame, the romance was lame, the movie didn’t care about the growth of the romance so I didn’t. So dumb. It didn’t know what it wanted to be and the movie failed because of it.

1. CHIPS

I just watched this, and it’s terrible. I did not laugh once, wait I think I laughed maybe one time but otherwise, I did not laugh at all. There were points where it supposed to be funny and it wasn’t. The character should have been switched, I could not buy Michael Pena in his role, the action was lame, the climax was lame and the gross humor was not funny and I don’t think any of the characters were interesting. This movie was just plain stupid.

This is my list of the worst of the year. There are some dishonorable mentions and it took me a minute to decide between some of them but I had to pick them. I would love to hear your thoughts on the worst movies of the year! Let me know in the polls and in the comments below!
